Day 1: Arusha - Momela Gate - Miriakamba Hut
Begin your 3-day Mount Meru adventure with Jairos Tours as we depart from Arusha in the early morning. Our journey takes us to the Mount Meru National Park, where the excitement begins. Upon reaching Momela Gate, we’ll complete the necessary park registration, and you’ll have the pleasure of meeting our experienced guides and dedicated porters who will accompany you on this incredible journey.
The trek commences through the enchanting Montane Forest, a captivating introduction to the diverse ecosystems you’ll encounter. Keep your eyes peeled for the park’s resident wildlife and marvel at the lush greenery surrounding you. As the day unfolds, we’ll make our way to Miriakamba Hut, situated at an elevation of 2,514 meters. Here, you’ll enjoy a hearty dinner and a well-deserved rest, recharging for the ascent that lies ahead.
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut - Summit - Miriakamba Hut
Awake before the break of dawn as you prepare for the exhilarating summit day. An early start is essential as you embark on a pre-dawn ascent toward the iconic Socialist Peak, which stands proudly at an impressive 4,566 meters above sea level. The terrain will vary from rocky paths to the stark beauty of the alpine desert.
Upon reaching the summit, you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking sunrise, casting its warm glow over the surrounding landscape. The silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance adds to the awe-inspiring panorama. Take your time to savor these unforgettable moments and capture memories that will last a lifetime.
After relishing the summit’s beauty, you’ll commence the descent back to Miriakamba Hut, your home for the second night on the mountain. Here, you can rest, reflect on your incredible achievement, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow trekkers.
Day 3: Miriakamba Hut - Momela Gate - Arusha
On the final day of your Mount Meru adventure, wake up to a fresh morning in the wilderness. After a nourishing breakfast, you’ll continue your descent, following the trail through the Montane Forest. The sights and sounds of the natural world accompany you on this journey.
Arriving at Momela Gate, you’ll receive your summit certificates, a tangible testament to your extraordinary accomplishment. Enjoy a well-deserved lunch before embarking on the journey back to Arusha. As you return, take the time to reflect on the challenges you’ve conquered, the beauty you’ve witnessed, and the lasting memories you’ve created on your 3-day Mount Meru trek.

- Unlimited drinking water (As specified in the day-by-day section).
- Accommodation Type: Camping or hut in Marangu Route.
- Rescue fees, Emergency oxygen, Pulse oximeter, and First aid kit.
- Guides and porters' accommodations, meals and their entry fees on the mountain.
- Fair wages to guides and porters as approved by Kilimanjaro National Park Authority.

- Tips (Tipping guideline Guide $10-$20pp per day, Cooker & Porters $5-$10pp per day).
- Personal items (Souvenirs, travel insurance, Visa entry fees upon arrival at the airport or online $50-$100 per person per entry depending on nationality, etc.).
- Any extra orders at meals are not included. Set menu meals are part of the package.
