Safari Overview

This 10-days Uganda safari is one of our adventurous Uganda safari packages, offering a true taste of Uganda’s adventure. It starts with Kampala city sightseeing, including visits to several sites. You will also catch up with the waves of River Nile in Jinja – the source of the Nile.

Next, encounter the playful primates – the chimpanzees in Kibale National Park. You will watch abundant wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. These parks showcase Uganda’s incredible wildlife.

The journey culminates in coming eye to eye with the endangered Mountain Gorillas in the forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Additionally, you’ll interact with the local Batwa people – the people of the forests.

This safari of 10 days and 9 nights starts from Kampala City with pick up at Entebbe International airport and ends with a drop off at Entebbe International airport.

3 Day Gorilla Tracking Safari Uganda: Kampala

Day 1: Arrival, Pick up – Kampala Sightseeing

Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative (safari-driver guide). He will give you a short briefing about the safari and drive to Kampala city for a sightseeing experience on a bodaboda, as you drive on various streets of the city you will enjoy watching the locals going on with their daily activities, visit the Nakasero and Owino Market among others if time permits (depending on your time of arrival). Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan: lunch and dinner

Gorilla trekking

Day 2: Kampala tour – Transfer to Jinja.

Enjoy breakfast, meet your driver – guide and head out for a Kampala city tour. You will visit the Uganda National Museum – the oldest Museum in East Africa started in 1908, Kasubi Tombs – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a burial grounds for the kings of Buganda, Kampala Central Mosque formerly known as Gadhafi National Mosque. You will have lunch and then set off on a journey to Jinja through Mabira Forest – the largest forest in central region of Uganda, arrive in Jinja in the evening, check into your hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Adventure

Day 3: Water Rafting, tubing and Quad biking

Have breakfast and head out for a full day of adventure, starting with a visit to the source of the Nile for white water rafting. You will join other rafters at the meeting point for a briefing about safety standards and how the activity is properly carried out. Afterward, you’ll get your life jacket and helmet, ready to start your rafting adventure on the Nile, the longest river in Africa.

You will experience thrilling white water rafting with high rapids of grade 4 and 5, making it an unforgettable adventure. After rafting, enjoy lunch before heading out for a tubing experience on the Nile, soaking in the beautiful views around you. The scenery provides a perfect backdrop for a peaceful yet exciting experience.

Later, you will go for a one-hour biking experience, enjoying the splendid views of the River Nile as it flows. After your adventurous day, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation: Nile Village Hotel & Spa. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Fort Portal

Day 4: Transfer to Fort Portal – Kibale National Park

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Fort Portal – a small but beautiful Tourism Town. You will lunch along the way, arrive in Fort Portal in the afternoon, go for a short tour visiting the Tooro Kingdom Palace then proceed to Kibale National park. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Gorilla

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking – afternoon visit to the locals community – Coffee Plantations

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts while in the presence of chimpanzees. You will be grouped into six people and then head to the starting point with an armed ranger before entering the jungle in search of chimpanzees. The search takes approximately 3-5 hours, depending on the movement of the chimpanzees.

When you locate these playful creatures, you will spend one hour in their presence, watching them play on tree branches, groom each other, and collect fruits. After this incredible experience, you will return to the park’s headquarters where you will receive your certificates. Your driver-guide will then take you back to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the local community, where you will explore coffee plantations and interact with the locals. Witness the process of making local beer and even taste some. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

5-Day Wildebeest Migration Serengeti & Ngorongoro Safari

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park – afternoon boat ride at Kazinga Channel

Have early breakfast, checkout of the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park a wildlife capital, along the way you will enjoy magnificent views of Rwenzori Mountains. Arrive in the park in time for lunch which you will enjoy after check – in, in the afternoon you will head to the Kazinga Channel. During the cruise you will watch abundance of wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, hippos and crocodiles and many birds including herons, crested cranes among others. With en-route game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

12 Days 11 nights Uganda Tour

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi – Visit the Batwa people for Cultural visit and Learning center

Enjoy breakfast and go for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains where you will enjoy watching several animals including lions, kobs, leopards, warthogs, buffaloes among others. With packed lunch you will proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park arriving in the afternoon, you will have a visit the Batwa learning center where you will have a deeper insight into the lifestyle of the Batwa people through interacting with them, watch various activities such as demonstration of their hunting skills, making of local coffee and local brew. Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Gombe

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Mbarara City

Enjoy breakfast and go for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains where you will enjoy watching several animals including lions, kobs, leopards, warthogs, buffaloes among others. With packed lunch you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in the afternoon. You will have a visit to the Batwa Learning Center where you will have a deeper insight into the lifestyle of the Batwa people through interacting with them, watch various activities such as a demonstration of their hunting skills, making of local coffee, and local brew.

Wake up as early as 06:00 am for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of mountain gorilla trekking. A senior ranger guide will take you through the rules and regulations to follow. You will be grouped into 8 people, assign you a gorilla family to trek, and head into the jungle looking for mountain gorillas.

Gorilla trekking takes approximately 4-6 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas, the gorilla family you are trekking, and where it stayed the previous night. When you encounter the gorillas, you will spend one hour in the presence of gorillas while watching them groom each other. Take amazing pictures and videos as long as your flashlight is off.

You will trek back to the park’s headquarters to pick your gorilla certificates and embark on your journey to Mbarara City where you spend the night. Tarangire

Day 9: Game drive / bike safari in Lake Mburo national park – Transfer to Kampala

Wake up and head to the park for an early morning game drive for sightings of zebras, defassa waterbucks, leopards, hippos, hyenas, topis, reedbucks, impalas, elands, among others. Return to your lodge for breakfast and rest for a while as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a biking safari in the savannah grasslands of the park.

There are several hilly routes in the park where this biking activity is carried out. The biking activity lasts for 1-2 hours and offers you a chance to ride among zebras and impalas. It’s a unique way to experience the park’s wildlife up close.

After the biking experience, you will depart for Kampala, arriving in the evening. Head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation options include Papyrus Guest House Entebbe (Midrange) or Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa (Luxury). Meal plan: Full board basis.

3 Day Gorilla Tracking Safari Uganda: Kampala

Day 10: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Depending on the time of your departure flight, you will have breakfast, meet your guide and be driven to Entebbe International airport for your flight back home. This marks the end of this 10 days Uganda safari.
